Will the EPUB keep my PDF’s layout?
No, and that is worth knowing before you start. An EPUB is a reflowable ebook, not a fixed page. Multi-column layouts, tables and sidebars come out as plain text in reading order. The words and their order are kept, but the original layout is not.
Will it work on a scanned PDF?
No. A scanned PDF is a picture of text, not text itself, so there is nothing to put in an ebook. The tool will tell you plainly that no text was found instead of giving you an empty book. Scanned pages need an OCR tool first.
Can I add images to the EPUB?
Not in this version. The EPUB contains the text of your PDF, one chapter per page. Images are not carried over yet.
Will the EPUB open on a Kindle?
Kindles do not open EPUB files directly. Send the EPUB to your Kindle with Amazon’s Send to Kindle service, which converts it for you. Kobo, Apple Books and Google Play Books open EPUB files directly.
